As I am an early riser, I frequently watch breathtakingly beautiful transitions from night to daybreak. Sunrises are brief and very quickly the colors of the day settle. Softer blues and greys merge with pale tinted whites as clouds dance around the mountains and between the moon and the emerging sun. Shadows create patterns on the fields below. Even on cold winter days there is magic in the mist that turns farm fields into grey lakes. There is power in the black clouds of a rainy day that blow and disperse silvery liquid over the land. In the heart of winter, whites dominate while outlining the mountains and the trees. In nature, changing horizons occur on a daily basis and my personal horizons also change according to the mood of the moment.
